The Team
Jeff Myers
President
Jeff@thefilmfactory.ca
Jeff started shooting mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding videos at the age of 11 after his grandfather gave him a full sized VHS colour camera. By the time Jeff turned 13, he was already being paid for video projects by Mr. Mike’s Steakhouse. After graduating early from Caledonia Senior Secondary, Jeff immediately went to film school to pursue his passion for filmmaking in 2003. Within that same year he started working on a network TV show in Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV as the director of photography and lead editor. In 2003 Jeff also launched his own production company in Kelowna, BC.
Now, over 20 years later, Jeff is still heavily and actively involved in film & television in a full-time capacity, and his work can be seen on major networks and streaming platforms internationally such as Netflix, Prime Video, Discovery, TLC, W Network, CTV, APTN, NBC, TSN, CBC, HGTV, Lifetime, Hallmark Channel, Global, Bethesda & more!
Jeff is an avid mountain biker and adventure motor biker who also enjoys skiing, playing the drums, camping and the outdoors in general. He is both honored & proud to be immersed and a part of the Okanagan film industry where he is fortunate and proud to work with a great group of colleagues year round.
Evan Porter
Associate Producer
Evan@thefilmfactory.ca
Evan began his media career as a sports photographer and evolved into his current role of Associate Producer. In his early career, Evan became one of western Canada’s most popular photographers for strength sports, namely powerlifting and the strongman circuit. This passion is what pushed Evan to move into live broadcasting as a host and producer in partnership with The Film Factory. Evan has since moved into film and documentary projects that allow for him to flex his creative strength through the lens and across the paper via investigative journalism.
Evan also passionately supports local non-profit organizations such as the Kelowna Gospel Mission by creating campaign videos aimed at inspiring others to help those in need.
When he’s not working on film, he can be found lifting weights, working with his German Shepherd rescue, playing guitar or road tripping.
